Over the holiday, a client sent me a video from Instagram from the creator Blacknwhitebestofboth. In the post, he introduces his audience to The Female Delusion Calculator. The name is self-explanatory. It’s a tool devised to give women who date men an idea of how realistic their expectations are regarding dating. Spoiler alert! Not very, according to this calculator.
Users are instructed to select preferences from a multiple-choice list of options. Specifically, their ideal match’s height, race, weight, and income. All while insisting the results are indisputable because they’re drawn from US Census Bureau data.
LOL. What? Since when does the US Census Bureau ask citizens their height and weight? Moving on…
While he reads each screen to the audience, the creator makes choices for each category. His selections were:
Age: Men ages 28–45
Race: Any
Height: Over 5'9"
Income: Over $100K a year
Weight: Any (Excluding those considered “obese.”)
Drum roll, please.
According to the Female Delusion Calculator, most women have a 5.6% chance of meeting their Dream Guy. (So you’re saying there’s a chance.)
