Questions answered in this episode:

  • Why are men?

  • Where do they get the audacity?

Grab a glass of chardonnay and put on your comfy jammies. You will want to be as calm as possible when you listen to these two stories.

I will say this again. Men have no problem wasting women’s time. They are not burdened with the pressure to settle down and marry as young as possible the way women are. We are indoctrinated from birth to be in a rush before we lose our looks and become bog witches. Men, on the other hand, are made to believe they have the luxury of time.

As a result, they embark on relationships they know have an expiration date out of convenience. It works until it doesn’t. Then, they break things off by using an excuse that leaves the woman wondering where everything went wrong. It didn’t go wrong. It was always bad.

And he knew it.

In the first story, a woman worries that her once-foot-loose and fancy-free boyfriend is growing discontent with their relationship. He admits he misses his old life, where he could take off at a moment’s notice. He resented his lack of autonomy but insisted he did not want to break up. For future reference, if someone you’re in a relationship with communicates they want more independence, that’s not a good sign.

The other story comes from a woman who’d been stood up at the altar. On the night of her would-be nuptials, she slept with a man from her past.

Fast-forward a few months, and her former fiancee wants to get back together. He learns of her fling and says he’s owed an apology. Let me repeat that: HE CALLED OFF THEIR WEDDING THE DAY OF, AND SHE OWES HIM AN APOLOGY. The word for today is audacity.

Before you click play, please take this warning. You will need to be more than a glass of wine to get through this. You’re going to need a whole carafe.
